  We are pleased to have Jayne Armstrong, the Delaware District Director of the U.S. Small Business Adminstration, with us to talk about the SBA's commercial real estate loan programs and their 504 refinancing product and how they can help you and your client's real estate transactions come to fruition.

  During Jayne Armstrong's tenure as the district director of the SBA's Delaware District Office, the SBA team has dramaticlaly increased its visibility statewide through extensive marketing and outreach; expanded participation in its government contracting programs; increased counseling and training offered by the Small Business Technology Development Center and SCORE programs; and established the Delaware Center for Women's Entrepreneurship in partnership wth the YWCA of Delaware.

  Literature on the SBA's Commercial Real Estate 504 Loan Program will be available during the networking portion of our event. The table will be manned by Bill Abernethy and Rachel Rossitto, WEDCO and DCDC, which are both non-profit companies providing financing for small businesses in Wilmington and the State of Delaware. The SBA 504 Loans are offered by Delaware Community Development Corporation.

  A complete Luncheon Buffet will be served that offers healthy and delicious options for everyone:

• Topic: Meet Delaware's new Transportation Secretary Shailen Bhatt

  • Secretary Shailen Bhatt : Delaware Transportation Secretary, State of Delaware
• Description:

  Shailen Bhatt was sworn-in by Governor Jack Markell as Secretary of the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), on July 5, 2011. 

  Secretary Bhatt has experience working on local, state and federal transportation issues and before being confirmed by the Delaware State Senate for the position of Secretary at DelDOT, served as Associate Administrator at the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in Washington, DC. In recent years, he was been responsible for setting policy and managing relationships with members of Congress and led FHWA's efforts in reauthorizing the nation's surface transportation legislation. At FHWA, Secretary Bhatt played a key role in establishing a Federal Highway Administration's initiative on accelerated project delivery, called Every Day Counts (EDC).
