Register Now for our September 12 Lunch Meeting

In the waning days of Summer, it's time to start filling in your September calendar.

Please join us on Wednesday, September 12 at the Clarion Belle Hotel, to welcome Kathleen S. Matt, PhD, who serves as both Executive Director for Delaware Health Sciences Alliance and Dean of the University of Delaware's College of Health Sciences.

Dean Matt is an excellent speaker and will share important information about Delaware Health Sciences Alliance's plans and goals for the new University of Delaware's STAR Campus, and and other elements of interest to us including the newly funded Newark Train Station and rail connection to Perryville, and what that will mean to the college and the STAR Campus.

UD entered into a strategic partnership with Delle Donne Associates and Bancroft Construction to develop a plan for phase one of the STAR Campus. Construction began this summer and will be completed by fall 2013. Through this development, health and life sciences will be one of the first sectors to establish a presence on this campus.

A luncheon buffet will be served after we are seated at 12 noon and includes:

Garden Salad with two dressings
Lemon Pepper Tilapia
Grilled Chicken Breast topped with fresh tomato & basil bruschetta
Rice Pilaf
Steamed Asparagus
Rolls and Butter
Assorted Desserts
Water, Iced Tea, Hot Coffee, Decaf and Tea

Primary Election: Tuesday, September 11

Please remember to VOTE in the Tuesday, September 11 Primary Election -- the day before out next CIRC lunch meeting!

As you know, there are many candidates who are running in very important and tight races for political offices in the City of Wilmington, New Castle County, and State of Delaware that will have a direct impact on us all.

We hope you are not only following these races in order to make informed decisions, but that you reach out and volunteer to help your candidates of choice on election day. Most candidates still need your financial support as well as your time -- especially on election day!

Visit the Candidates' websites and offer to help in whatever way you can. They will be most appreciative.

The BIG Check

Thanks to all of the general golfers at our June 11th Annual Golf Outing at DuPont Country Club - a hugh success by the way - we are looking forward to awarding The Delaware KIDS Fund will a big check in the amount of $2,400 at our next lunch meeting on September 12. Great job...and glad you had so much fun giving!
