Meet our Speakers from Chester County Economic Development Council

Bob Grabus, CDEDC Development Advisor

With 40 years of executive, managerial and technical experience in commercial real estate, new business development, marketing, management, site selection and appraisal, Bob Grabus of the Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC) utilizes his expertise as a Development Advisor in new business development, marketing, sales, and economic development activities in the intensely competitive Mid-Atlantic Regional market.  
Bob focuses on creating employment opportunities, business growth and corporate attraction to the region. As part of the Economic Development Partners Initiative for Chester County, Bob serves municipalities and businesses around the region, capitalizing on infill, excess or environmentally challenged properties, addressing the issues that have kept these properties from their productive commercial uses.
As a long time Chester County resident and professional, Bob has a strong conservation streak tempered by the realities for smart and sustainable development and tax ratable growth focused on creating employment and business opportunities in region.  Bob has effectively driven smart growth and championed better land use approaches throughout Chester County, while strongly supporting the business development needs of the region.

MaryFrances McGarrity, CCEDC Director of Business Development

In her current role as Director of Business Development for the CCEDC, MaryFrances’ efforts are focused on programs and initiatives that attract, retain and grow businesses in Chester County. At the Council, she works with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development as the representative of the county directly interfacing with the Governor’s Action Team (GAT) and the Office of International Business Development (OIBD). She regularly meets with decision makers identifying capital, facilitating financing, addressing workforce issues, and assisting with site selection issues.
MaryFrances brings 10 years of sales and marketing experience in commercial real estate while working for Jackson Cross Partners. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Chester County Industrial and Investment Council and West Chester Lightning. She holds a BS in Management & Marketing from St. Joseph’s University, and a BS in Elementary Education from Immaculata University. She has earned her stripes by being a PIAA girls high school basketball official.
