Feb. 8 Lunch: Cybersecurity & Keeping Safe from Malware Attacks

Thank you for attending on Wednesday, February 8 Monthly Membership Luncheon.  

This was a timely message about cyersecurity and keeping yourself and your company safe from malware attacks.

Keynote Speech: Cybersecurity and How to Keep Safe from a Malware Attack

Keeping up with cyber-criminals is becoming a full-time job. This presentation, led by Ray Abbott, SVP of the Cash Management Department at WSFS Bank, addresses recent trends in payment fraud and what options are available to keep your company safe. In addition to a demonstration of a malware attack, WSFS Bank representatives and a guest speaker: Carl "Chuck" Kunz III, attorney at law, partner, and co-chair of the Wilmington law firm Morris James' Data Privacy and Information Governance Group, will present case studies and take a look at practical approach is to prevent threats. Technical and operational controls that can be put into place so you don't fall victim to cyber fraud will also be shared. 

WSFS Bank presenters, in addition to Ray Abbott, include: Phil DiAngelo, VP Operational Risk Director, and Rob Eastwood, VP Information Security Officer and a Certified Ethical Hacker. 

This eye opening informative session is designed for CEOs, CFO's, and key office personnel, as they will likely play a large role in the fight against cyber fraud and how to protect against it.

We will be seated promptly at 12 noon and move quickly into the Luncheon Buffet so that we can start early with the presentation and end by 1:20, in ample time for students to return to the 1:30 CE class across the hall.

Follow Up: Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility

At our January CIRC meeting, Tony DePrima of the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility (shown above with CIRC VP Don Robitzer) discussed a variety of programs that are available to commercial and industrial property owners looking to improve their energy efficiency and lower their energy bills.Energize Delaware Brand

These programs include:

Energize Delaware Low Interest Loans are available to businesses, non-profits, school districts and local governments looking to implement energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

The State of Delaware Energy Efficiency Investment Fund (EEIF) provides grants help commercial and industrial customers replace aging, inefficient equipment and systems with energy efficient alternatives.

Commercial Geo and Solar Thermal grants funded by the DESEU through the Delaware Green Grant program.

One of the DESEU’s more recent success stories is 1201 North Market Street, which used the Loan Program and EEIF grants to finance a variety of improvements including building automation, variable frequency drives and motors, HVAC modifications, exterior lighting control, roof improvements, and an electric car charging station.

If you do not renew your membership, you will responsible for paying the NON-MEMBER RATE which is $10 higher for all events, including lunch and dinner events, and continuing education classes.
