Annual CIRC Golf Outing - Wednesday, June 10th

SAVE THE DATE! Wednesday, June 10, 2009 is the day, and Deerfield Golf Club's the place for this year's Annual CIRC Golf Outing. We appreciate our members' support, whether you are a sponsor or donate something to our popular amenity bags and door prizes.

What makes this event such a GREAT EVENT is the Networking and Business (and we don't  'just' mean “Monkey Business") that occurs on the Links when we bring together 120 golfers and a lot of volunteers and dinner guests!

Please contact our Golf Committee Co-Chairs Lorraine Sheldon (lsheldon@cbcworldwide.com) or Laurie Marino (lmarino@bpgroup.net) if you would like to discuss sponsorship opportunities or to volunteer. Please register online or send in your registration form to participate as a golfer or a sponsor.

Drumroll please...Steve Davies of Apex Engineering was the lucky winner of the gift certificate for a great meal at the Augusta Grille at the Clarion Hotel-The Belle awarded by its managing partner and director of sales, Alan Spiro.

Lorraine Sheldon, Golf Co-Chair and Coldwell Banker Commercial-Amato Associates sales associates, also awarded Susan Miller of Sales Solutions and Ted Nutter of the State of Delaware, Facilities Management with a free lunch at the Augusta Grille.

We've been getting rave reviews on the hotel's food and location. How did you like the Clarion Hotel-The Belle as a new venue for lunch meetings?

Condolences to family and friends of John A. Wheeler

One of our respected members, John A. Wheeler, age 62, died tragically on March 20 after being struck by a car while jogging near his home in Landenberg, PA.

John was the President of Wheeler, Wolfenden and Dwares, PA. In addition to his membership in CIRC, many of you may have also known John from his involvement in other local professional associations, including the Committee of 100 and DCA. He was an avid golfer, longtime baseball coach in the Norht Brandywine Baseball League, Delaware Babe Ruth and the Piedmont Babe Ruth Leagues. He was an active member of the Promise Keepers.

A service was held on March 27 at the Chandler Funeral Homes, after which he was to be buried in Naples, Florida, where he and his wife of 15 years, Carol, had built a home and planned to retire in four years. Contributions may be made to the John A. Wheeler Charity Fund, 4550 New Linden Hill Road, #201, Wilmington, DE 19808. These contributions will be distributed to various charities.
